Default starview alert

I've just been passed this info I hear it's been posted on other forums can't verify if true just giving those that own them a heads up.

Quote:
* * * WARNING * * *

I have been given creditable information that the Starview client database has been compromised and hundreds of customer details copied including email addresses, ip addresses, paypal account id's and box mac Id's. If this is true (and from what i've seen I have no reason to doubt the authenticity of this claim) then its a very serious security breach for the starview team.

Thumbs up Re: starview alert

I believe this is nothing more then a so called '' Rumor '' If this was the case then I think everything would have been on Lock down by now and boxes would have stopped working as well.

I could be wrong but I think the information is most likely '' False ''

If it has any truth in it then I guess the folks who own these boxes might as well prepare for a court hearing.

Yet I doubt if everyone will get prosecuted if this did ever happen and the authorities have got such and such detail of the individuals who have been paying for such a service.

However the star-view has been busted before and no one did get prosecuted for that matter, so am not sure what is going to be different this time.

Even when the server was busted last time they had all the info they needed. i.e IP address, Mac Address and so on. Which in it self would be sufficient evidence in order to prosecute any individual.

Not really managed to get your ip address through a very easy programme online and have now passed it onto the fraud squad to investigate your abuse of sky through card sharing .

Wait for the knock on the door
