KV Box (Glasgow) - Having real problems... :(

Hi all,

Based in Glasgow and my KV has seemingly stopped working completely – with only FTA channels showing.

I reset to factory settings and have attempted to update the s/w using the ethernet connection – however, the screen just stays on “searching for update”, without either confirming that A) an update has been found or B) an update is not required… I had originally assumed that the KV servers were down – but it would seem, from the lack of moaning on these forums, that this isn’t the case…

I’ve checked the ethernet connection by plugging into my laptop – and it’s working fine. As such, I can’t understand why I can’t connect for a s/w update…

Any ideas guys?

What software is on the box mate?

check system information for this..

H/W Version: V3.0.0

if this does not match up then you will need the software and loader from the download section

next is to do a factory reset then scan under network.

make sure you have the correct NetID before scanning.

The system info matches up, so no problem there...

When I do a factory reset, and then the auto scan, Glasgow comes up as one of the choices I have to click OK on... What do you mean by NetID? Is this the symbol rate?

Whatever it is, it's not something i've been concious of changing in the past - and the box has worked fine until around last week....

thanks mate - i was hoping to get the box working for the Gers game tonight

Where/how do i input/change the net id?

Also, and probably more to the point, would the net ID stop me from getting onto the server? Because this seems to be the real problem - when i try to connect for a s/w update, the screen just hangs - suggesting its not connecting... This ties in with the fact that the screens arent unscrambling - no connection....

when u factory default the installation menu comes up u ok automatic search does ur network say ntl press green button to start search and ur net id should be 00002 glasgow and press ok then it show all the tp and then it should start 2 automatic search & wait till its done .

i've done this mate - 00002 glasgow is the only option that comes up, so i click ok on that, and as you say the scan starts and completes - it seems to find all channels...

However, this is where i'm having trouble - i plug in my ethernet and it doesnt unscramble. I have the April firmware on, but i cant seem to get a connection to the server to descramble

i know this might sound stupid but check all ur conections to the box m8 is ur symbol rate 6.887 ?
