Default Con Merchants Starview

So for a while now my expiry date was 15th of november then a couple of days ago i got not connected, it then reconnected checked the expiry again and it's now changed to the 15th of october.

purchased 6 of these for various family and friends just before christmas last year, place i bought them from was a online retailer, purchased with a credit card for just under £600

so my plan is if these do go off i've not had my years worth these will be going back to the online shop as faulty, they choose not to refund or replace i'll contact the cc company job done

some might say it's not the companies fault but in the same respect i paid for a years worth and i'm actually losing out on over a months worth of service

Thing is you know what these box's do and thats why people buy them but if the server goes off people moan about them.

this is always the same with pay servers mate you state you have payed for a years service whats the chance of it going off 50/50

why didnt you just get a KV780 and only pay for the box?

whats the crack with starview tbh there servers have been pulled down before and in mind it will happen again.

if i was you i would return all the box's get your money back and buy a KV or go on the SAT side.

hope this helps.

In what way do the boxes not fit the description given by the seller? What service did the seller guarantee that you're not getting any more?

the sellers know what they are being sold for, so trying to say that what they offer is correct in my eyes is wrong these are sold for free tv pure and simple.

why should i the little guy in all this be done out of a service i paid for whether it's legal or not, i paid for a 12 month guarantee that it works and these will no longer work for what there ment for before the 12 months is up

@50pounds at the time i didnt know starviews were so poor nor did i know they had a expiry, at the time at £90 a box seemed worth while

I bought an Oz of weed the other week, and it was *****.

I've filed my complaint with the local trading standards.

You're right, it's not the same.

Just so I'm clear, and can't make the same mistake again in future.

YOU purchased kit in the hope of receiving subscription channels illegally, and yet, despite knowing there are no guarantees, and going against the majority opinion of the forum as to which provider to choose, you think you've been ripped off when you lose 1 months worth of channels.

So, you knew the risks, yet feel hard done to when your risk pays off for 11 months and not 12.

If you're that hard to please, you really ought to get a sub from Virgin.

Why are you moaning on an open forum? Are you looking for sympathy, or are you hoping the shop you bought from operate their returns policy out of the TW boards? Maybe you're hoping to get a group together, because 100 people all trying to get their money back on equipment they're using illegally is far stronger than 1 (hint: it's not).

Actually, having re-read your OP, you've come on TW to tell us that you plan to whine to your supplier if your boxes go off. In a month.

What do you expect TW to do, hold a vigil? Say prayers? Make blood sacrifices? Congratulate you on your willingness to purchase stolen TV then complain when it's not as great as you hoped?

BTW, of all these many boxes you've bought without a problem, why aren't you using them now? Oh, that's right, because you did have a problem, when the encryption changed over. Did the people who bought Eurovox/GenericCableBox complain when the switchover happened a month after they purchased? Probably, but that's because they were like you - they couldn't accept that their purchasing illegal shares in cable TV wasn't a guaranteed venture.

Man up, accept it, and move on. From what I hear, KryptView have been a more reliable supplier, perhaps they'd be more up your street. Failing that, there's always a legit subscription if you can't handle the non-guaranteed service.

Where did you buy from ? Did it say in thee description the you'll get 1 years access to the server, Because i doubt it. No one mentions the server when you buy. These are usually sold as FTA. If the server goes off, they are still FTA so theres no chance your getting your money back.

I know £600 isnt good to lose, but youve got 10months out of it (even if it was *****) And you should have researched before forking out that much money.
You learn from your losses.
