have acer extensa,screen is broken,would like to conect to tv instead please advise

so thats the situation im wanting to go trough vga but as i cant see the screen on the laptop i dont know what to do. any help will be greatly recived.

Easy...

Check on your laptop if you have either of this connections:

VGA, DVI or HDMI

if you have a DVI then you can convert into a HDMI... that is if your TV does not have a DVI

do the same with your TV.

Simple!

when you know which lead you require you buy it and connect it to the TV

After that press the FN key and the one of the function keys I think it is to switch screens.

just to be on the same page... When you say the screen is broken can you be more specific please... because whats not to say that the screen is fine and the issue is not your GFX CARD.

Secondly if the screen is showing as blank / black then use a bright torch and shine it agains it and see if you notice any pic in the back

if you can then its most likely your Inverter has gone and you need to replace it.

check model no to make sure you get right screen.
