All of a sudden when a started my car this morning it started beeping and wouldnt stop. I looked at the dashboard it said oil pressure too low. I dont knw what the problem is i tried putting some more oil in but still says oil pressure too low.
I have looked around in other forums people are saying its something to do with the oil pressure switch and that you need to replace it with a new one. Some people have replaced it but after a few days the problem comes back. So i dont have any idea what is wrong with it and plus i dont want to buy a new oil pressure switch and then after a few days the problem comes back. I mean the car has only done 24,000 miles and is a 1.6 petrol so i doubt its oil pressure switch would go that quick. Anyone have any ideas. |

I would change the switch and the oil and oil filter, a new switch shouldnt fail after only a few days.
I wouldnt expect a low milage engine to actually have low oil pressure unless the oil pump has failed but then you would be hearing some serious noises. Might be worth contacting a main dealer for advice in case its a known electronics problem or something like that. |
