Default Soundcard issue

i had to format my pc today and i thought i had still got the disk with my Audio drives on it but i have seemed to have lost it , anyway i have a dell GSX28O , so i thought i wont be a problem going on the dell website download off there no problem yea right ? ? the ones that are suppose to be compatiable with my Pc kept coming with (this message cannot download the application . the application is missing required files. contact application vendor for assistance .) has anyone had this problem before and if so how do i resolve it any help would be much appreciated thankyou .

What operating system are you using?
Is this an onboard soundcard, built into the motherboard, or are you running a separate sound card?

Do you know the make/model of the motherboard?
On start up press the pause key and write down the motherboard info.

I can't find one for the GSX280 only GX280 or SX280, what is the full description of your PC? Is it an Optiplex?

When asked save the file to your PC.

or you could try Driver Genius PRO 10.0.0.712

it sorts a good few problems out look it up

Dell comoputer may need to install its own mobo chipset driver first, reboot, then install the other device driver next.

this can have a better stable working environment.
