Need help please...

Hi

I have 2 sky+ hd boxes, one is fitted and working in lounge, this one was installed by sky

The other One i bought off ebay, which came with no card

How do i get the 2nd one to work in the bedroom?

Any advice is appreciated

I'd suggest fitting a multi-LNB to your dish and connecting the new box to it along with the first one. It should work straight away, i'm not sure if you would need the card in to receive FTA though.

My LNB has 4 inputs, 2 wires are going to the living room box at moment. So do i just put another 2 wires in for 2nd box?

What kind of wires would i need? Where do i buy it from?

Also i need to know about the card, would i need a 2nd one?

If you want to use the record option then you will need to pay Sky, if you just want to view FTA channels then just connect one wire.

You can get the wire anywhere, even at your local B&Q, it is just satellite cable, go for the WF100 type.

Not for the FTA channels, but you will need a card for FTV, Free to View, channels, but an old white Sky card or a FTV card will suffice.

There are only a few FTV channels but as I don't watch British television I can't tell you which they are, hopefully someone who views Astra 2, and/or has Sky can help further.

if you want to view subscription channels ie sports movies or what sky call packs then ull need to contact sky (wholl charge you for extra card and for self setup (believe it or not) if you just want free channels then you dont ull recieve same as whats on freeview boxes
