3D / HD movies which are downloaded from the net will only work if the TV supports the codec.. i.e x264 etc etc.

Regrading the dongle which you require well that should be listed in your user manual.

doesnt it have a ethernet connection? you'd be better with that.

downloaded 3d films (15-50GB) need to be burned to a 25gb or 50gb blu ray disc

you can download smaller 3d files which as unadkat says will only play if the tv likes the codec.

if it has any mention of mkv or divx you should be ok with those

going to change thread title to 3dtv's in general. perhaps "smart 3dtv" and stickie it. i expect a few of these "boxes" will be getting set up between now and christmas.

talked my old man into getting one.. its an lg. one of these led lcd things.

im running it on powerline adapers at the moment but copes no problems. checked out a few demo 3d clips on the apps and off youtube. wasnt bad.

got a 3d blu ray (whatever one of those is!?) player with it too. they both have lan, a couple of usb's each and the telly has umpteen hdmi's.

the telly has a media player too. forgets the name of it but sounds something like what vlc is supposed to do... hope that works out as i wanna just take lappy round and play mkvs and that.

this particular tv has 2d>3d. its not mind blowing, it just creates a bit of depth to eastenders etc. still good though.

thinking of getting a blu ray writer too. bit pricey for what they are of you ask me. wouldnt mind having a go at making of of these data packed compact disc things!

you can play a 3d movie from your memory stick with no problems on the lg 3d bd660 player as long as its mkv format
