Default Receiving BSkyB

I live in the Middle East, and have a dish pointing to Astra at 28.2E from which I currently receive BSkyB via sharing. Can I connect my existing dish to a Sky Digibox, buy a Sky Viewing Card, and receive BSkyB in that manner? Is it that simple?

You cannnot buy a Sky sub apart from a monthly subscription, and even then you have to have the box connected to a telephone line in the UK

Now I find this very interesting, I do a fair amount of diving in Egypt, Tunisia and see a lot of sky dishes on properties out in the wild with no phone lines, it's cheaper and more reliable to have a mobile phone, so how do they do it.

probably a used box, you then call sky and get a subscription, you then don't need a phone line BUT the box and bank account needs to be in the UK or sky need to think it is.

In Ireland it's a €37.50 one off connection fee if you do not connect the Sky box to a phone line.
I believe that intimately if Sky are making money from you then they will not care too much what country the box is in so long as it appears to be in the country of origin.
