Hi everyone,
I have a quick question for you: I have two sky+ HD boxes. One is installed downstairs with a dual feed from the quad LNB on my dish outside. Sky themselves set this up and it has always worked just fine. Then, there is a single coax feed upstairs in the bedroom from one of the spare outputs on the LNB. This cable was already present when I moved into the house and I asked the Sky guys to connect it to the LNB when they put my box in downstairs (there was already an old dish on the wall outside, which they replaced with their identical new one). I recently connected this up to my second Sky+ HD box and set it into single-feed mode. This worked like a charm for a few days but now whenever I turn the box upstairs on I just get a 'no satellite signal is being received' message. The box downstairs continues to work as always. I haven't changed anything, so why has this arrangement stopped working? Is there a step I need to follow to get it working again? I tried disabling and then re-enabling the '22KHz cmd' and 'LNB power supply' options in the firmware as suggested by Sky, is there something else I can try? Many thanks in advance, |

on the coax that goes upstairs try refitting the f plugs cut about 1/2 inch of each end of the coax then recut ends
dont forget to unplug box from mains first as there is power going up the coax also try swapping the boxs over just to try then swap them back |

Also check that the upstairs cable isn't damaged.

Hi gents, thanks for the help.
I plugged my old Thomson box into the upstairs co-ax and it also had no satellite reception, so the fault must be with the cable or LNB. I went outside and swapped the coax over onto the spare output on the LNB, but to no avail (also, the box downstairs still works fine). I also tried trimming a few inches off of the cable upstairs and refitting the F-type but none of this worked so I'm guessing the cable is to fault. I'll get some new shotgun cable and replace the old cable to see if it starts working, hopefully I don't need a new LNB. PS: Can I use this cable? (WF65 shotgun). Ideally I'd like to avoid having to drill a bigger hole than is already in the wall as I'm renting this property. The length from the dish to the box is under 10 metres. http://www.satcure.co.uk/accs/page8.htm#shotcut |
