Default Lost BBC News

I have just lost BBC News, BBC Parliament, BBC Alba and Sky News interactive. Local friends also have the same problem, so it is not just my system. I seem to recall hearing about changes to these frequencies. Since we are outside the Astra 2D footprint, is it possible that these channels have been moved to 2D?

Thanks Mickha for that confirmation. Sorry if I missed it elsewhere. I assume there is no way to receive BBC News and interactive in Greece then, except with a very large dish?

Unfortunately not from Astra 2, 28.2E.

There are a number of BBC World News channels, available on other satellites, and a lot of them are FTA.

I've been out of the country for a month and was wondering what had happened.

I currently live on the Costa Blanca and use Sky is there anyway to get BBC News channel and add it as "other channel". I did try to input the settings given in earlier thread but got channel not found.

Go to kingofsat.net and enter the transponder manually.

BBC News, and a few others, are now on Astra 2D, which uses a spot beam.
You can check the maps, on flysat, kingofsat, lyngsat, and others, but even if it was possible, for you to receive them, it might require a ridiculously sized dish.
Code:
http://en.ses.com/4628803/astra-2d
You could try using a slingbox type device, or check for an internet feed, but why not just view BBC World News, which is available FTA on other satellites.
Of course this will not have the same content as BBC News, which is mainly focussed on events in the UK, but should still report the main events of the day.

Hi Spanishneil. I think you have the same problem as we have here in Greece. Namely, that BBC News (and interactive) has now moved to Astra 2D. This has a smaller footprint and if you are outside this footprint, then you will need an ever bigger dish the further away you are. Here we need 3+ metres, so it is not really viable.
If you wanted to watch the sport content, then you will be able to access it online, but would need to block your server location, since you would be outside UK.

As a postscript to this topic, it is possible for anyone outside the 2D footprint, to add BBC feeds. This will give you BBC sport which was previously on the red button on BBC News. Press 'services' on your remote, then 4, then 4 again. Type in frequency 11950, change V to H and then 'find channels'. Add streams 6711 to 6715 and these will then be available on 'other channels'.
