Hi
Just a quick question if someone can cleae it up, got a dreambox se recently and been messing about with it. Got a No CA error a couple of times once when changing skins and once when doing a firmware upgrade by accident. My question is why do images ask if you want to do firmware upgrade if its gonna mess it up with the drivers........ can that message be got rid of so someone else dont press it by mistake. Mine ended up with tuner being blank and not seen by the drivers/hardware upgrade and message " Hardware could not be verifies" Please contact Dream Multimedia. What is ok to do a software update or firmware upgrade and my CA error was just a blip just like it did with the skin change. Regards |

you can flash what you want. think its the same sort of thing as the modems.. just dont crash the bootloader or it makes it hard work.
never had to muck with any drivers or anything on my dm

With a clone box, you need drivers that are compatible with the second stage loader, you must use the SSL for the SIM in the box or you will get that error. The firmware is intended for genuine boxes where this problem doesn't exist.
I believe the clone boxes now have a SSL84 for SIM 2.10 available.

Hi
Thanks for the replies guys, I have found that to be the case on a few occasions resulting in CA errors, part of the fun/learning curve just like te dbox days. So to confirm one can do a software update but not a firmware update as that is only for genuine boxes. If so is there any way to stop it from asking you to do a firmware upgrade everytime you reboot to stop mucking up by accident as I did. When someone is making a patched image why do they leave that option on. Believe the is the SSL 84 drivers/patched images but I havent tried them yet. |

Hi
Ive got the SSL 84 patched Newenigma2 image on and works pretty good. As for anyone that wants to turn off the annoying firmware upgrade message, you can do this via blue button Newenigma2 services, System Tools, System preferences and disable firmware updates in there. Regards |
