If I was totally new to satellite tv, and knew completely nothing about equipment or what stuff there was to view, what online resources would you suggest that I read.

Obviously there's a lot of info, right here on this forum. So you could use the search button, for specific things you want to know about. If you cant find want you want to know, you could ask in a post. A bit of a google obviously as well.

@cupid, the thing that sparked my interest is F1 moving to sky. I am not going to buy a sports package if I can view via satellite.

F1 is FTA, Free to Air, on 19E, on the German RTL channel but only with German commentary.
