Default Dreambox SE + Hard Drive

Hi

Need a bit of help, have been trying to use a 16gb usb drive which gets seen in Device manager and mounts but no where else and also an external 1tb Samsung hd which gets seen everywhere and mounts but just cant initialise.

Ive tried fat32 and ext3 but no joy, when it does try to intialise the 1tb drive I lose the format.

Any pointers on how to get these working.

Regards

The initialize procedure usually formats as well. You could try removing the partition from the HDD in a PC, then try to initialize in the box again.

Hi

Yeh Ive tried that as well as I realised when you try to initialise it loses its format and Ive had to reformat via easeus but once reconnected to the box same thing fails comes up with messages as below.

Partition sda1 mounted on: /media/hdd.

Unable to initialise harddisk.
Error: Mkfs failed.

Unable to complete filesystem check.
Error: Fsck failed.

The 1tb external drive has its own power supply and Ive reformatted so many times now both the hard drive and the usb via box and pc.

Regards
