Hi guys, hope some1 can advise. I want to buy a PS3 only to play FIFA 12 online with my mates. If i buy one with a faulty blue ray player, will i still be able to play games from HDD if i download it from Sony? Dont want to spend too much money as i am only going to play FIFA. Look forward to your replies. Thanks

You would have to jailbreak it/install CFW to play games from the HDD. At present, this can only be done on consoles running 3.41 or 3.55 firmware. However, the 3.7x firmwares can be downgraded to 3.55 by using ProgSkeet but I wouldn't recommend this as lots of soldering is involved.

That can be done but you need to have access to a PSN account that somebody has already purchased the content with.

Sainsbury currently selling ps3 slim 160GB with Fifa 12 and Vanquish for £180
