hang an a minute I never fully read the thread I thought you were trying to get into BIOS as the master password for the BIOS can be calculated from laptops serial
are there any options in the BIOS for setting or removing passwords if there are sometimes booting into BIOS with the HDD removed and reapplying a password then reinsert HDD and reboot to BIOS and then select the option to remove password. |

hiya smoggy
yep i tried that myself i know there has to be a way round this as the password is stored on the hard drive so there has to be interaction when the password is entered its just capturing that intervention, its an ongoing problem that i will get by in the end although techwreck's suggestion has merit im not prepared to pay a service provider to do this as i wish to try and get in leaving the hard drive as in tact as possible also very few laptops have space for 2 hard drives and alas i dont have one |

if the hd has a password smoggy than the only way to hack it is either know the password,or use the unlock method I have used, because the password is set on a chip on the hd.
your right if it was a BIOS pw like you I could of got the master pw for him using a dos pw generator. regards tech justin I use a slave port on a desktop to unlock the hd, the price for the service i thought was very reasonable normally a third of the cost of a new hd Last edited by TechWreck; 27-11-11 at 05:36 PM. |

i know what you mean Tech ,, what is doing my head in with google is that the top results returned are open to corruption ,,, a pal of mine lives in spain and someone they met out there is being paid an awful lot of money to ensure the top site if you do a search on the word poker stays that way so to speak ,, and other certain betting sites
,, i just feel that google has been over corrupted now adays ,, im 43 and have worked in the IT industry from the age of 18,ive worked for multi nationals company's M.O.D departments and just looking for something more than google ,,, also bling wouldnt dream of using it
