be aware that although i have an openbox direct from china as far as i know you can not send whole boxes back you have to figure out with your supplier which part of the box is malfunctioning and send that back or hope like me that nothing goes wrong with it

I am interested in buying a dreambox or openbox to play about with, I intend on buying a few more once I see how I like it but I can't find any advertised on ebay for the prices mentioned in this thread. In fact, when I search most of the boxes are coming up over £300 and are orginials.

What am I missing?

I don't want to be hijacking this thread but maybe you would be kind enough to answer a couple of quick questions lincsat.

I know we don't discuss cardsharing here but my intention is to use my sky hd card in a linux box (don't know which one) and buy some client boxes so that I can have multi room in a few places around the house. I just wanted to buy one box first to get my head around how things work and have a play with it before I bought another 3 of them.

What is the cheapest hd box you sell that is good? Would the dm500s be a decent enough box to give me a taster?

I have sky hd on my main tv, is it possible to split one of the cables and
use it as a feed to this additional box? Just to save me having to swap cables about while I'm testing it.

It's limited what can be posted to stay within the rules.

You can use a Sky card in a Linux HD box like the DM800 or Vu+, Oscam is the preferred CAM to read the card.

You can share a card from A Linux HD box to another box using Oscam or CCcam (or others)

You can't just split a Sky dish feed, if you have HD, then you likely have a quad LNB with 4 outputs, you may have a spare output on the LNB to run a cable to the new box.

The DM500S is not HD, the cheapest Linux HD box that I have is the DM800Pro.

Hope that helps
