Exclamation Starview Warning !!!!!!!!!!!!!

this is what i found from other forums

Reports are coming in that the latest Starview firmware (260) is killing clone boxes.

what a nightmare!!,my sister rang me up today and said she was watching her box last nite the picture froze so she unplugged the box, then plugged it back in and there was nothing, the lcd display wouldn't even light up!!!!!!!,so me being a bright spark went round with my box which is working fine and plugged it in and now my box won't power up!,i checked the fuses,i even plugged other appliances in the same plug socket and they were fine,so i took them back to my house and tried them on my mains and they still do nothing!!!!,anyone got any idea's?,I flashed both boxes with the new firmware last week and the last time i used my box was about thursday, any feedback will be appreciated, kind regards

Post Re: Starview Warning !!!!!!!!!!!!!

You are quite right. It is not known if the 2.60 file is 100% safe or if it is clone receivers that cannot take the update and it ruins the flash on these. The best advice is if anyone has upgraded to 2.60 and your receiver still works, go back to whatever bin file you had originally. Until it is known for sure what the problem is as a fact, not just many speculating, this would be the safest thing to do. If your receiver has been wiped out then there is very little you can do with it.
I expect to see a lot of "faulty" Starview receivers on ebay over the next week or so.
