Default Technomate TM 5402HD Initial set up advice

I have just purchased a Technomate TM5402 with a TM motorised dish/ 0.1 LNB. I have got as far as initially pointing to THOR 1deg W. My coordinates for London have also been set. I would be much obliged to hear what I need to do for next steps. Also which satellites are worth programming? Help on setting dish limits would also be appreciated (dish is clear of wall ). Sorry if my questions are repeated elsewhere. Thanks

Dish limits are set depending if the dish will hit something, i.e a wall.

Just go for the common sats to start off with then see what else you can pick up in between. Use USALS, it will make life easier.

Eg, go for 42E,39E,28E,23.5E,19E,16E,13E,9E,4.8E,1W,5W,8W,12. 5W,15W,22.5W,24.5W,30W.

Then you might be able to get 36E,33E,26E,10E,7E,4W,7W, and maybe a few others.

26E is worth a go, and then the main eastern sats, but depends on what the box can do.

That is really helpful Robbo. Will I have to set each satellite listed or will the USALS method do the job? Can channel settings be uploaded rather than having to trawl through the lot when I have the satellites sorted? Thanks

You cab set it up using using the latest Channel list however you will need to add the Tp for certain channels as I have noticed that there is stil quite a lot missing when I downloaded the list

If u need help let me know as I used to have the stb.

Assuming that the dish is setup properly, usals will send the dish to each satellite automatically. Minor tweaking of the satellite position may be needed for weaker positions though. Using a channel list saves time.

Thanks chaps, The Dish is set up and picking up the satellites. Unadkat thanks for your offer. I have already started going through each of the transponders scanning to save from each of the satellites to save the channels. I have noticed lots of duplicate channels I assume the ones which are not working should be deleted? I also noticed a problem with ITV1HD and BBC HD didn't have any sound. Any ideas?

Very sensitive receiver ... just doing another for a customer and iit matched or beat the foxsat on 7w. Mid day too

The blind scan is pretty good too if you start with a blank sat it usually gets the lot bar an odd low sr tp

Audio button did not work. I changed the AV setting in the menu and it did the trick.

I'm now ready to explore the potential of the receiver any hints and tips on maximising the functions would be appreciated. PM if you are able to advise on channel access.
