Default Which receiver do I need ?

Hi, All.
New to this forum!
I got my first satellite dish way back when the only satellite available was Eutelsat , there were only 16 channels available back then ( all snowy!) and you had to purchase a “black box” called a Companion to watch filmnet! The motorised dish was 1.2 meters in diameter!
Things have moved on somewhat since then.
Like most people I turned to Sky as it seemed the best option.
Like a lot of people I have of late got tired of it and wanted to go back to watching all the other channels that are available today, but not on a Sky box or a Freeview box.
Technology has moved on and I never kept abreast of it I now live on a narrow boat that is fitted with the latest Oyster dish that can track all the available satellites and lock onto then, it is only used for Sky at present.
What I would like to know is which receiver do I need ?
Regards Barry

You'll mainly be restricted to FTA. There is a huge choice of receivers available that will do the job. For example one of the Technomate models, Linux or standard, A Dreambox, a Vu solo or duo, various Icecrypt satellite receivers... the list goes on and on. Speak to Ian at southernsatellite he has a wide choice and will give good advice on what would be best for your purpose.
