Default missing channels

hi there, am new to this but hope i can get some help. i purchased a passion hd + together with a 65cm dish from maplin, i had it installed and all was set. i happen to get most common freeview channels and had to do a manual scan to get bbc HD, unfortunately, i dont get channels like true movies, movies4men, luxury hd and the zone channels. my signal comes up at about 82% with a quality of about 60%.

i set my lnb to universal and am based in scotland.
any ideas please
thanx

Are you scanning in the correct frequencies? Are you getting any channels on Eurobird 1?

Astra 2, 28.2E, is a cluster of satellites, including Eurobird 1, either your dish isn't correctly alligned, your LNB isn't skewed correctly, or your receiver might need a software upgrade.

What signal quality/strength readings do you have for the channels you can get?

It's the quality reading that's important and 53% seems low, but different receivers provide different readings, I would try to adjust the dish, and LNB, to improve the quality readings.

Have you skewed the LNB to the correct position?
You need to adjust the dish very slowly, including the elevation, to peak the signal, try doing this on one of the Eurobird 1 channels you have already tuned in.

thnx for all your help, am now getting a signal on the missing channels mentioned above, but not too good quality, just about 26% so the picture keeps jumping, i will try skewing the LNB and move the dish around to see if i can get better quality.

seems like the higher i move the dish the more it gets better but cant move it any higher than it is just now. the dish is fixed outside my window edge, should that be a problem

thanks again.

Not unless there is something blocking the signal or preventing you from correctly aligning the dish.
