Hi guys,
Just bought a new Samsung 51" TV-KV picture absolutely fine on it, very pleased! Problem is DVD (including the start up menu!) is Black and white picture only. To be precise the DVD is a Panasonic Home Cinema system-now about 7 years old but TOR at the time! Only output from DVD is a SCART, if I go direct to TV SCART or to TV HDMI (via a HD upscaler) the B&W picture results in either case-all else fine. Any ideas-I will add exact model numbers later, but thought a quick question might produce the most likely solution. Google searches seem to suggest a DVD with an NTSC output to a PAL TV might produce this, but can't really see why DVD output should have gone NTSC?! TIA for any help! |

Have a look in the dvd players menu settings for tv output options, you want it on PAL RGB.. That said, most modern TV's can accept both PAL and NTSC inputs anyway.. Its either some setting on the dvd player, or that its gone faulty..

Thanks for the suggestions, guys.
The TV is Samsung PS51D450 and the DVD Panasonic SC-HT75. All I had to do in the end was flick the switch on the back of the DVD from S-VIDEO to VIDEO. Simples-colour restored. Hope this may help SOE who does a search in the future. Thanks again. |
