Default aldi mini satellite system

Hi everyone,

I am new to all this satellite stuff so can any one help me as it is driving me mad

I have not long ago bought a mini satellite system form aldi and linked it up to my old sky dish, great i thought, then scaned for channels and i got over six hundred, but a lot of them are scrambeled, I got the settings right for my area and have over 70% on the reciever is that good ?

So i was just wondering if i can get some firmware to sort it out some how !! or and when i flick down the channels on the EPG it turns my tv off so can any one help me please ???

the system i have is a RS232C Interface that means nothing to me as i am new to all thisso plase can antone point me in the right direction please

many thanks Umbroman

All you will get are the FTA, Free to Air, channels off 28.2E no matter what you load.
Check the manual and delete all the scrambled channels.

As for turning off, the only thing I can think of is that one of the buttons, you're pressing, must be for turning off your TV, are they made by the same company?

Yes, one of the codes used on the remote must be shared by the TV. I've had that before when using various makes of receiver.

Sounds like you're pointing at 19.2E, 13E or even 23.5E, if you can post some of the channel names, from the logos, and frequency details, we should soon be able to help you locate which satellite you're aligned to.
Or check lyngsat.com

Many channels, on different satellites, share the same frequencies, if you are pointing at Astra 2, 28.2E, you should get some of the channels in the link below:
Code:
http://www.lyngsat.com/28east.html
Are you getting any German channels, Italian channels?
Can you please look at the channels and post what you are actually receiving, not what is listed on your receiver.

Sounds like you are pointing at 19.2E, you need to go 9 degrees to your right, if you are facing the dish, , left if behind the dish, and down a little with the elevation.
