Question Fitting A Cable Wire

Hey guys, Just asking is it safe for me to fit a cable wire.

I have the brown Telewest box on my house that I'm pretty sure is still active but I need to open that box up and connect I guess a coaxial cable to get internet access.

So what I'm asking is how much power do the little brown boxes carry, Is it safe for me to fit this wire without getting electrocuted

Thanks in advance

I had mine off because water got in there and didn't get a shock. But whatever you do its at your own risk, as a fault somewhere could cause a problem. You should really get the cable company to make a new connection.

I agree with Robbo, but there shouldn't be a current present, only low voltage a round 3mv, but if you've had a fault. Then alway ask if Main electric is involved. PM me if it's an electrical isses.

Actually, thinking back, I recall getting a little slap from the white box inside once, I took it off to wallpaper behind it. Must be more than 3mV to do that.
