Sounds like it has got a DVB-T tuner so it wont work on cable either way. Unless the Tuner is swappable.

And with that spec is no good for UK HD DTT, we use DVB-T2 and the Spec only mentions DVB-T

Or unless its a dual mode tuner. As cable and terrestial tuners use the same frequency range and the modulation is quite similar these multi-mode tuners are now starting to become popular.
