Exclamation Lost TV Image - Factory Reset

Hi all,

My euromax V3 2007 box was working fine. That was until I starting fiddling..... I went into TV setting as I have toggled through the options (PAL, RGB etc) the picture changed to a flickering screen, from one corner of the screen to the other. To be honest I am unsure what setting I changed and to what value.

I noticed that on the settings page, there's a Factory reset option. Is it possible to select this option from a PC even and will this do the trick.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi before you try reset go back into tv setting and select pal if you have changed it to rgb and your tv can not except this type of signal or your scart is not connected to a rgb scart input on your tv it will flicker and display a very poor picture as you have stated hope this helps .

Thanks for the reply mate. I have tried going back in to TV Setting and changing values back without any joy. I say tried cos the damn screen image is not cleat and going across the screen at a fair rate of knots!

Will reseting to Factory settings do the trick. Can this be done using s/w available from the gmail drive.

Will reflashing the box cure the issue?

Cheers.

Hi give this a go first if you tv has two scart connection on the back take the scart out of the one you are using and try it in the other scart connection if it supports rgb signals you should see a stable picture . if you reset your box back to factory setting it should reset it as it was when you first got it but not 100% on this .

Hi mate,

Sorry I should have mentioned that I have a 2nd TV upstairs that I connected the box to. This tv also has 2 scart sockets, one labelled AV and the other RGB. Tried both sockets but got nothing. But when I take the box downstairs I at least get a image of sort

So is there s/w out there that allows to you to reset back to factory default, or alternatively will re-flashing do the trick?

if you can see the menu on screen do the factory reset and make sure you select the symbol rate for your area.upload your channel list first so you can just reload it after without having to rescan

Hi Ronster,

I can just make out the Clear Data Screen, enter the PIN and then select the Factory Reset option (with help of the manual screenshots). Unfortunately the screen image is not clear enough for me enter or select symbol rate etc. (in Manchester btw with VM/N*L). Am I buggered?

just factory reset then choose any symbol rate, then when its reset you should then be able to see everything proper so reset again to your correct symbol rate

Hiya,

First thing I did was to re-flash the box with latest firmware. This made no difference.

Then did a factory reset and managed to insert all the correct data when the screen image was relatively stable for a couple of minutes. Did a power scan and got all my TV channels and radio channels back. Sound is not a problem.

But the image is still not stable, still getting flickering. Can manage to get in the TV Settings menu and change some vaules in there which has some effect on the image, but still doesnt fix the issue Getting to the end of my tether here.... Still cant get any image when connecting it to other TVs either though get 1 when connected to the original TV, which is bizarre.
