Default What was the best Holiday ever or memories?

I've had many, but the one that really sticks out. Was At my Nan's in Formby Lancs. She lived near the beach and next to the Pine forest. Me and my younger brother would play out all day. (This was before Mobiles), the smell of pine and the sound of the waves, a small bottle of pop and we'd make it last. Great days for me and my bro.

The biggest treat was, my Uncle Les would take us to liverpool and I'd stand in the Kop at Anfield.RIGHT MADE UP I WAS!!

Best holiday I ever had was InterRailing around europe for a whole month when I was 18. Theres far too many memorable moments that to write them down would fill pages and pages, the whole experience was just fantastic... I regret never getting the chance to do it a second time before growing up and getting married, lol..

How many of you guys have been to Faliraki? One hell of place to party.
On this one occasion many moons ago. The favourite sport on the beach was Sea view Volleyball, so Every time you lost a point you had to down a beer. So setting the scene here. Taking into consideration that this game was played in the sea and to keep the beers cold, the crates were kept in the water. These games went on for hours, so you guess it. It became very difficult to remember where you left the crates and these crates held about 24 bottle and the crates where metal ones so they didn't float away. So as the game ended we all left (all 20 of us). Next morning, there was one hell commotion coming from the beach. As it happens it was a festival for some saint or other. Anyway as we got nearer, we saw about 7 boats, some very expensive speed boats I might add, all partly submerge and at different stages of sinking. Yep they'd found the crates alright. So we decided to move the volleyball further down the beach and invested in number of cool bags for the beer.

My memory is of travelling to where ever in the back of the car with my sister. Tea out of flasks & soggy sandwiches out of bread wrappers. Hot vinyl seats in the summer. steamed up windows in the wet and the journey taking ages. We always seamed to set off before dawn and then when we got to the place having to hang around for ages before being able to get into the caravan, I never understood why we did that.

Just so true Madrat, but I just loved them soggy butters. Your right I never could understand why we use to set off before Dawn?? I guess it was old school, sort of sneak off before any one knew you had gone. mind you, My Dad use to use the same principle, but in reverse. I don't think he ever paid. old school.

I always remember my Dad giving me sound advice. Especially when going on Holiday(with a girl friend). Mind you I couldn't alway understand the meaning sometime. For intance, always carry a piece of spring with you?? I ask him once, he said was old school?? national service stuff?? I guess he meant, tie her up and then you can go down the pub, cos it's much cheaper when your going solo.plus you know where she is for when you come back???
