Default ibook reader

hi there just got a new ipad today want to read books but it telling me the ibooks reader is free but when i try and get it it asking for my card details is that normal as i dont think it is or is there an other way round it to get the ibooks reader tia

its perfectly normal for apple to ask for your crd details when creating a new itunes account. its basicly there identity verification process, you wont be charged for ibooks mate so no need to worry
