Outlook has 1 big problem. If the program is open in the background or not minimised then you don’t get an audible mail notification.

Windows live Mail is available for vista too. and it gives an audible sound when minimised.

Been using Live mail but why is it so hard to attach photos? keeps opening messenger WHY??

Gone back to Thunderbird, found option so my replies appear at the top of the page and not the bottom and at least you can attach photos to a message without some stupid online photo album trying to open


I would still much prefer good old Outlook express. If anyone gets it to work with 7 please let me know.

Madrat, you can change the position of your reply in Thunderbird!
Go to 'Tools'
'Account Settings'
'Composition & Addressing'
On the second line down - "Automatically quote the original message when replying" check this box, then you have three options, 1.Start reply above... 2.Start reply below...3. Select the quote.
Hope this convinces you to forget Outlook.
