Default Starview 7 bricked?

I have just bought a second hand starview 7, I cant get anything to work not even the menu on the screen, when I select menu I just get the dashed lines on the display? I have a rs232 cable, is there a fix?

Why don't you try reflashing it with an RS232 null modem cable. Start the loader with the box off, then turn it on once you have started the transfer with the loader. Assuming of course that the SV 7 has a com port.

Yes I feel a bit silly! lol! I have had lot of experience over the last few years with satellite boxes and cable boxes, I was totally stumped for a couple of hours! btw I paid 6 months subs to the mystarview website, says up to 48 hrs before it becomes live, how long does it generally take? which software should be on the box? does anyone have a link?
