Default Rooting my HTC Mozart

First of all I am not the most tech minded person...but can my htc Mozart be rooted??? If so is there a "a to z" of how to do this??? I have just updated my phone to 7.5.... If I could not do this myself would a phone shop do it and about how much would I pay, or is it not strictly legal to do this.....

The main reason o want to root my phone is so i can use my phone data on laptop (hope that make sense)...

I used to have a I-phone which I got jailbroken, I am assuming rooting is the android equivelent to this.....

Any info/help would be really appreciated on this..... hopefully in lamens terms as well...lol
