Scanning takes a while, i get about 10 in a 24 hour scan if i'm very lucky.
If you keep trying mac's you'll find one that works eventually.
I've had a couple play up like yours, if the config file is 416 bytes and it's operational, give it a try again in a couple days.

The config file was 412 bytes when it was workng but now that its gone off its 7142 bytes, no matter what mac I put in it remains operational unless I change bpi to 1.0 then is says registration complete

Then the mac will have gone off, keep trying fresh ones til you get a hit.
If you've got alot of mac's and you're patient it will pay off. (Just maybe )

HI guys, just a quick question - so once your online with a 10meg mac is there certain settings that need changing in order to keep the mac going off after a week like changing stealth settings etc?

It really all depends on the MAC address you use. They will not stay online forever, it could last a day, a week or even a month but it will go down eventually.

I am in the same boat as G77, once clones started going off after every hour or so then I gave up.
