Default help

Hi all im new on here ,my motorised dish has moved in the wind so lost a lot of channels on spiderbox ,i have never set a dish before any ideas of a quick fix as my sat man cant get here till the new year any help is fab .

It depends how it has moved, if it's elevation has altered then you can only fix it by manually adjusting it, if you still get a signal, on any satellites, you can peak the signal by moving the dish, using the motor, if you are using a motorized system.

Can you please supply more information, is the dish motorized, what size is it, are you using Usals, or Diseqc 1.2, to move the motor?

If using Usals try altering your longitude slightly and see if the picture improves, or switch to Diseqc 1.2 and nudge the dish East/West to see if the signal strength/quality readings improve.

You might also want to take some pictures, and post them on the forum, so that an installer can check if the installation is suitable.

ok thanks for your help ,im just instaling a new cable ,as the one i got has a join in it and im told there should not be no joins ,i managed to get a picture on 28.2 but i had to move the dish to 32.0

my new cable is now in ,i have changed my longitude in usals from 1.4 to 0000 then went down to sat position and changed it from 28.2 to 32 my signal is showing 85 % and quality is 82% but that only allows me to view that satelite.

You dont need to change the longitude and the satellite position. Just change the longitude by the full amount to take up the alignment error caused by the wind. If you can get 28E, then you should be able to get others as well.
