right guys a mate of mine got a slim ps3 with 3.66 firmware on it

my question is can you downgrade to 3.55 ???

also his game he got is asking for upgrade to 3.73 but he not done yet LOL

any help please thanks and cheers

The ProgSkeet chip should allow you to downgrade but it requires lots of precise soldering.

That is the only way I know of, I haven't been following the PS3 jailbreak scene since 3.56 and I don't think things are going to improve.

theres a programme for dual booting ps3 fws so that u can play backups on 3.55 and also recent games on 3.7

That would require the use of an external NAND which in turn, would still require soldering... unless there is a solder-less solution I missed?

There are 3 ways to downgrade, Progskeet this has solderles nand clips or you can solder it in...
You can use a Tessny ++ on slims or Infecs, these are solder only....
Or there is the e3 flasher that in ment to be solderles install, this is only for slims or nor flash....

Use the PS3 wiki to find out about your console and the moutherboard, I have done a few with a tennsy++, It took along time and I had to solder over 40 wires so if you are no good with solder then get the Progskeet and clips as you can then use it with WII, 360s, PS3s, Iphones... If you ever wanted to mod them ofcourse!!
