unlock i phone 3gs on orange ?

hi can anyone help me , i was wondering if anyone out there can unlock my i phone 3gs 32gb it is on the orange network and i would like it unlocking for any network. hope someone can help me, im in the sunderland area tyne and wear.....

you could jailbreak it with redsnow ,install ipad baseband and install ultrasnow from cydia that will unlock it to take any sim,but be careful as it can cause the gps to stop working properly in some cases

^ That may or may not work depending on your relationship with itunes. itunes hates me and I hate it so I was getting an error 2005 a lot of the time.

In the end I gave in and called Vodafone(Phone locked to that carrier) and they sorted me out

depends on your baseband and ios version bud, you can find it in

settings>general>about

post your results and i will help u unlock your phone if possible

there are numerous gps fixes available on cydia, but if hes running a stock ipsw for ios 5 then he probably cant unlock his baseband and would need a hardware unlock via rebel sim etc.

i have a 3gs unlocked with ipad baseband and ultrasnow,i recently updated it to ios 5.01 without updating baseband as its ipad 06.15.00 ,it wouldnt get a signal so i jailbroke and installed ultrasnow.it worked fine including gps for about half hour then just went off and wouldnt get a signal,so i re did it and it keeps doing the same..any clues on that stevieboy ?

is it ultrasnow 1.2.4 you installed on 5.0.1? if so you will need to remove it in cydia then download ultrasn0w 1.2.5 which is the latest version released last week to rectify complications like yours. there was plenty of warning available about gps issues with ipad bb.

the only way you can change/downgrade this baseband is if you have saved shsh blobs on cydia prior to uprgrading to the 6.15.00 baseband and buliding a custom ipsw with them using ifaith etc.

i also have a 3gs on ipad baseband and my gps and signal are always fully functional.

hi stevieboy10 i called in to the galleries shoppin center and its in the process of being unlocked, they needed the iemi number and the baseband and ios version, like you said and £35 to do it and i keep the phone they ring me when its done (couple of days) thanks for your help.
