As per the title, can I do this? I have tried adding the .mkv files to my media library but they don't show up.
I already installed the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack so I know I have the required codecs. |

I just tried them with my WMP9 and they dont play either (I didnt DL any additional codecs to test it)
Do you know what the codec is for playing .MKV files?? (If you know the 1 specific filename i might try it) They seem to play fine in VLC The first and 2nd ones play fine: Video/Audio The 3rd one crashes my VLC The 4th one has NO VIDEO OR SOUND The 5th and 6th ones have NO VIDEO The 7th one plays fine: Video/Audio http://kakonacl.dip.jp/PlayerTry/TestMovies/MKV Good luck buddy! Its interesting. The page i listed above tests differrent audio/video formats using the MKV format....
The one that uses REAL VIDEO 10/REAL AUDIO 8 didnt have any sound OR VIDEO (#4) and it wouldnt even play in realplayer! (Quite strange) |

The video files in question play fine with the media player, I just can't seem to add them to the library (I installed the K-Lite Mega Codec Pack and I don't know which codec .mkv uses).
They are 3D 1080p .mkv files and I am trying to stream them to my TV downstairs. |
