Dual UK Freesat and French TNT

Hi,

I want to pick your extensive brains

I live in the south west of the UK and I want to watch Freesat and French TV, possibly TNT. It appears that Freesat is on 28.2E and TNT is on 19.2E and it is not possible to get standard UK channels (BBC 1, 2, ...) and standard French channels (France 2, 3, ...) on the same satellite angle. So I am thinking of the following and wanted to get some advice;

1. Purchase a TNT receiver and card via the French relatives, e.g. Sagemcom DS77.
2. Purchase a Freesat compatible receiver.
3. Connect both receivers to my TV.
4. Purchase an 80cm dish.
5. Purchase a twin LNB holder and tweak.

The tweaking bit is where my plan gets fuzzy. In addition, it would be great to have one receiver that does both TNT and Freesat, but I am not sure if this is possible.

Any advice? Should I get a motorised dish instead?

Hi, you are better off with a fixed dish if you just want those two sats, you should be able to get them both on an 80cm easily. A triax td78 plus multi-lnb holder and two Lnbs would work well.


You need two receivers, as TNT needs a TNT receiver and can't diseqc switch for 28e.
