I had this problem lastweek with a friends r4i V2 card I had to update the card and then I had to format the micro sd and put on the specific kernal for that card, but if you have done this have you tried another micro sd, what does it say on your r4i card do you have a pic or a link to the one you have

old firmware wont work a message comes up in red telling me its out of date ive tryed all the firmware lol im goin try another sd mirco like u said lambo and its a r4i 3ds the 3ds writing is in green and its black all around ill try get a pic on asap and pedst no it did'nt up date i updated after the card would'nt work thinking it was tht xx and ty guys for tryin to help me really appreciate it xx

1. Download and install the latest R4i-3DS V1.55b kernel to the MicroSD card.
2. Put the R4i SDHC card with SD card into a DS Lite or 3DS or DSi (below V1.4.4 verstion) console. 3. Turn on the power of console, go r4 main menu. 4. Enter "setting" menu, and choose "upgrade", then click "start" button to start upgrade.
