Thumbs up transferring files between laptops

little bit if help needed folks,

I have photos & music on my old laptop which I would love to transfer onto my current laptop. Problem is my old laptop screen is broke(can only see very top corner), so no way of just putting the files onto a memory stick so is there anyway(maybe by usb cable or something) that I can connect them up but through my current laptop be able to look about the old laptops hard drive?

Many thanks

Can you not plug a monitor or tv with VGA into your broken Lappy?

You should get a 2.5 inch caddy from.eBay or the converter and that will solve your issue

But that means u will need to remove the hard drive from laptop

So if your confident in doing it then go.for.it

Could be worth checking on ebay for a replacement screen some types are not too expensive and are not difficult to replace, it might be worth it to have a spare laptop.

you could remove youre hard drive from broken laptop then get a hard drive docking station type thing that plugs in via usb.

Nice find!

I use this :- http://www.usbnow.co.uk/p52/USB_2.0_...duct_info.html

as it converts any 3.5 IDE or SATA HDD /CD/DVD drive into an external drive

Also works with 2.5 HDD as well.

Thanks for all the advice folks, much appreciated.

V.busy last few weeks so not had a chance to follow up on anything but liking the idea to connect a monitor to old laptop. That is sounding like the simpliest & cheapest option at the minute,

I'll let ya know how it goes

Only if team viewer is installed on the broken laptop and also he would need to know the ID and password. This would be impossible if the screen is cracked mate. lol
