I sometimes watch online television programmes streamed to a TV with a VGA cable and sound cable. Is it possible to route this through a hard disc/DVD recorder? My recorder only has a S-video input available, so I would need a VGA to S-video converter.
Or, is there software available, preferably free, to record direct to the computer’s hard drive? |

If you want quality recording, the software route is the one to follow.
Converting VGA to S-video is possible but expensive, and will yield significant degrading (along with the re-encoding to MPEG by the recorder). One device for this is Maplin item code A30AU currently listed at £50. |
