Setup Questions

Hey all,

I'm a total noob when it comes to satellite so im hoping you guys can help me out, I have ordered a Blade7000s and a 1m dish with a disecq 1.2 motor.

When I get the dish installed do I position it to 28.2e and then the box will be able to find other satellites based on it's current position? or will I need to set it to 28.2e and lock it into the box then go and manually move the dish to 23.5e and lock it then 19.2e and so on and then the box will be able move the dish between those i've locked in?

Basically how does the setup and switching between satellites work?

With Diseqc 1.2 you need to manually move the dish, using the motor options, in your receiver, then store them.
With Usals you enter your location and locate the satellites automatically.

Read the motor installation set up guides before doing anything.

Are you installing this yourself?

No im not going to install it but I have a friend who is an ariel and satellite rigger who is going to install it. He normally only does sky installs so im trying to get as much info as is needed before hand

I had a look on the motor spec and it also suppors USALS, so if I get him to install the dish and lock on at astra I should be able to then use the box and USALS to find the other satellites?

Prpviding he instyalls it correctly you should get all the satellites whether you use Diseqc 1.2 or Usals, it just takes longer to set up Diseqc 1.2.
