Why do people often give the advice that a Rescan is all that is required?
It means people are more likely to change something on their box and cause fresh problems Today is a good example of where that advice is clearly wrong. I have rescanned and the channels did not return Has anyone managed to get their channels back by doing a rescan today?

Channels often move around, you would need to re-scan to get them back. Re-scanning will not get back channels that are not currently on the server, only channels that have moved.

You download the NIT tables for the required NetID and check all the linkages. Anybody thats into this lark as a hobby should be capable of this simple process.
Alternatively, do a rescan. If you get the channels listed in the EPG after a full factory reset/rescan then the channel has been found. If the channel is not in the EPG then it hasn't been found, usually because its on a low-power transponder and the box simply isn't see'ing it. If after a rescan a channel is listed in the EPG but it doesn't decrypt then thats the symptom of a totally seperate problem, possibly either an internet problem or a card subscription problem at the server (if it were a server problem, you would not get any channels decrypted) Last edited by TheCoder; 05-02-12 at 12:31 AM. |

Would this be regarded as the tuner being weak or sensitive? And because of that the tuner is simply failing to scan the low powered TP's.

Do they provide NIT tables for all areas of the UK? If the TPs change, will it be included as per region? |
