Could be a few things weak transponder likely suspect

what is a transponder? I've done a factory reset, re scanned with new s/w and now SSP 2 not even on my list of channels but have every other channel.

SS2 uses the same TP/frequency as channels listed.
528: MUTV
545: Motors TV
712: Nickelodeon
713: Nick Replay
Rescan from a direct feed, no splitter, direct from the wall socket.

Ok, have scanned this box once again and tried this at my friends house when I scanned the box and SSP 2 was working, brought the box home and have all channels but once again no SSP2, missing. Really strange this as when is was scanned at my friends it was working then got it home no SSP2, any ideas, thanks again.

it has to be a cable related issue, weak connections.

Definitely a signal issue at that frequency. You can try changing any splitter you have, shortening any spare co-ax you may have, even remaking the connections can help - so long as you do it properly
