HDD wont install Win XP or 7

Hi, Has anyone had this problem, I have Two Good HDD used to run win XP. I can boot them up on a boot disk with Test utills on and they test out good. But when I try to install win XP or 7 From original disks it dose nothing not even a blue screen, They don't ask to be formated or anything, except one says ( windowsroot>\system32\hall.dll ) and thats all. So what must I do before I can install XP.

Any help will be most welcome Thanks.

Is your cd/dvd drive set as 1st boot device in the bios??

Yes, and it reconises all drives in order to the HDD, but still wont install, I think that I need some system files on first ,but I dont know how to get them. Thanks.

Have you got both connected ? what connection are they sata or IDE ? if they are IDE have you set one as master with the jumpers ?
Have you tried from the bios going to F7 or F8 where you get the options for safe mode etc, and booting from disc, if you have cd/dvd set as first boot it should load files and give you the option to install or format etc.

Hi what motherboard are you using and how old is it.

so you say its from an original o/s disk ,, are the original disks from the same pc ,, if not are they for specific laptop ,,, try to obtain a different copy of the operating system ,, maybe create a bootable flash drive ,but your problem is your o/s disks from what youve said ,, a, your hard drive shows in bios , b, you say you boot with utilities disk and can run tests on both hard drives ,,, the only thing that is left is your o/s disk
your dvd drive is ok as youve booted a test util disk
your disks are fine as youve tested them with your util disks and they show in the bios
that leaves one thing your operating system dvd's

Hi, Sorry if I have mislead you all IT is True I do have two Hard drives and they are both doing the same thing But I have not got them running in the PC at the same time . I have only tried installing XP or 7 onto them singly and the mother board is an Asrock K10N78 Thanks.

I just had a thought, in the bios make sure you have correct settings for the hdd type like SATA or IDE and RAID turned off
