Maybe we've got VM all wrong !

Maybe they did such a hasty job, knowing how easy it is to defeat, in order to show the courts how futile these kinds of judgements are and they, as an ISP, really cant control what their customers view. The courts are soon going to get cheesed off if the music/film companies start bombarding them with thousands of requests for web censorship.

I cant believe that they are so incompetant that they would actually believe these censorship methods would actually work !

Yep, I think vm have done their job and that's it. I don't like this kind of censorship tbh.

Anonymous claims take down of Virgin Media website in Pirate Bay blocking retaliation - IT News from V3.co.uk

"Anonymous has claimed credit for knocking Virgin Media's website offline in a likely retaliation for the internet service provider's (ISP) compliance with a court order forcing it to block access to The Pirate Bay."

End of the day we all know a way of getting past these ISP blocks. I mean we're not dumb are we and I'm sure VM know their 'tech-savvy' users are clever enough to get around the block. So I'm now wondering if VM on purpose to make the courts happy that they've accepted the order to ban sites.

It was a court order, so Virgin didn't have a choice.

But, the ease of which the the site content can still be accessed, without any special knowledge or even determination shows what a load of old bxxxkz, the ban is, and a waste of time. As for blaming Virgin for banning it, surely wrong too.
