I am having trouble connecting Panasonic blueray recorder DMR-BWT700 to other Satellite Receivers via Scarts, also connecting Panasonic recorder DMR-EX83 to other Satellite Receivers via Scarts. The Satellite Receivers just don't work. Do I need to alter anything in the Panasonic Setup to allow Scart signal to pass through when on standby. Help please

Hi Mickala, I am connecting Phillips TV to Panasonic DMR-BWT700 via HDMI
Humax Foxsat via HDMI, and Fortec Star Passion via scart, the FSP switches on manually boots up with picture on TV and then immediately switches itself off, the remote control is also rendered useless, I swapped the FSP for a Comag SL45 and it worked perfectly. On my other system with no HDMI I connected Phillips TV via scart to Panasonic DMR-EX83 via scart to Humax Foxsat via scart to Fortec Star Passion and scart back to TV, neither the Humax or the FSP would work. I have always connected boxes via scarts with various makes and they have always worked, but this is the first time I have used Panasonics. I have tried all manner of connection combinations even RGB connections but no luck, it must be something in the Panasonics preventing the signals passing through. Thank you for your interest. |

According to the online manual,of the DMR-BWT700 ,you should be connecting your satellite receiver to the scart socket marked AV2 (EXT),USING A 21 PIN SCART CABLE.
Secondly it states Connect the unit directly to the TV If you connect the unit through an AV selector or VCR to the TV, video signal will be affected by copy protection systems and the picture may not be shown correctly. So you need to connect the Panasonic DMR-BWT700 directly to your TV. Same goes for the DMR-EX83EB,as the same instructions are mentioned in its manual. Thanks Mickha and Sat-World, I do have the Panasonic Receivers connected directly to TV, and I believe I am useing the Sat Receivers from AV2 (ext). But I will double check and also swap to different Scart Leads. Thanks again.
