Question Tm 6900 hd super combo Power supply problems?

My tm 6900 hd super combo powers up ok and after a few mins the screen flickers and the whole set freezes can not do anything with it other than switch it off wait then switch back on but it will do it again in a few mins. I have noticed that if i've got my usb drive pluged in it seems to do it sooner. Any help on this matter would be most helpful.

Try loading an un-patched image from the Technomate site and then do a factory reset. This will ensure it's not a firmware issue. You can also contact Technomate support through their site, they may be able to help you if the problem persists.

Sounds like it could be capacitors on the power supply, you could check for any bulging or leaking if you can do the work yourself.

Exclamation Re: Tm 6900 hd super combo Power supply problems?

Have already tried loading an un-patched image from the Technomate site and then did a factory reset but the problem still there. Will go to local tech shop tomorrow and ask the guy there for suggestions. I might even change all the caps and the voltage regulators on the psu board and see if that cures it. Will keep you posted.

Did you load the Official firmware using a null modem cable or the USB. I found that my box (same model) was doing exactly the same thing after Phantom 747p. Using the USB port had no effect at all but using the null modem cable cleared the problem, I think it took 2 loadings and factory resets. I then went back to Phantom patch 726p with the 002 addon and it's been fine since. I did the Official firmware update at switch on to stop the box seeing any of the problem firmware.
