Are you trying to connect the kids pc using the small green jack ? its probably not enabled or no driver installed if it hasn't been used before, depending on what op system go into device manager or audio/sound, if your on xp you will need to download driver from labtec web site unless you have a disc ?

Would you mind adjusting your setup and eliminating the splitter for the time being?
Signal goes out of PC and in to speaker system. You should have the wire going from speaker/audio out of connection of PC and going into line in of your speakers. (I searched the web for pictures of your speakers and could not find any.) Additionally, was the previous monitor's speaker system connected by the same audio cable or through HDMI? I am only asking to establish whether the PC has been setup to output audio through a digital source or through the speakers. Easiest way is to plug a set of headphones into PC for testing purposes only. |

You need speakers, either in your monitor, or stand alone, which you should be able to get very cheaply, or free, check a car boot sale or local free paper.
New speakers can be picked up for around £8, including postage. |
