if you have hdmi cable and flat screen tv connect with that if you have old style tv connect with red /white and yellow cable that should come with the player red an white is audio yellow is video . with this connection you should be able to play anything on the harddrive in the enclosure or anything from a portable or external harddrive that you can plug into the cyclone using one of the usb ports on the back .But you wont be able to play anything from a pc /laptop or the internet unless you network the media player

dunno when you turn the player on the light should turn from red to blue what did you see on the tv screen , and yes this does catch some people out you can only watch the media player on an av channel you may already know this but i have friends who have wasted thier time trying to tune one of these things in on a normal channel .

so the set up is wire it up switch on the media player then press your av button on your tv remote control you should then see the media player screen

good luck

Thanks,

Ok let me get this right, i am now going to attempt to use it on my friends tv, nice modern samsung! First i connect all the corresponding colours, yellow, white, red,and switch to av channel, do i need to use any other leads from the tv, eg hdmi cable?

Many thanks, this is hard work when you don't have a clue lol.
