Question Null Modem Lead ??

Hello all ,

got a problem and would appreciate some help.

i have a eurovox max running software from feb 06 and i have no problems at all but my mate has a star view and lost all his channels so i sed i would try sorting it for him , (lad he bought off gonna try charge him 20 quid to sort???)

So i bought USB to 9 pin serial cable (usb cos my computer and laptop do not have the required connection) I have read elsewhere that this is not infact a null modem cable. i know i can purchase a null modem cable from ebay but its the connection what is stopping me . Where do i go now ?

Thankyou

Buy a null modem cable from the shop - Lincsat's Nick-nacks (Shop)

Then plug one end into your USB to Serial adapter, make sure you configure your adapter to use COM1 or COM2, most by default use COM4-6 and some programs don't recognise that com port.

That's exactly what I've done for a M8's D-Box as his PC doesn't have a COM port.

Have a look in the instructions that come with it - you may also be able to configure it from windows device manager.
